Computer Training Course

 

Course: M-F, 2-4 weeks                   
Maximum capacity: 12 students                                         

This hands-on course develops basic to advanced computer skills, and develops an understanding of the required coordinating, managing and the appropriate handling of customer accounts.
Objective: to maximize the knowledge and skills in data processing using MS Office applications, improve data entry skills, and internet navigation.

Curriculum:

  4. Microsoft Word
  5. Microsoft Excel
  6. Filing Procedures (labels, letters, alphabetic filing)
  7. Keyboarding
  8. Ten-Key
  9. Navigation of the Internet & Email

  11. Telephone Etiquette

OSHA Compliant Forklift Operator Training Certification Course

 

Course: M-F, 2-4 weeks
Morning and afternoon
Maximum capacity: 10 students per class

This OSHA-compliant course teaches students forklift driving skills and safety issues. A three-year OSHA certification card is received upon graduation.
Objective: to ensure all forklift operators have received the proper training and have demonstrated the competency needed to safely operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts). Upon completion of the training and evaluation, the client will receive a 3-year OSHA compliant certification.

  3. Forklift Safety and Stability
  4. Pre-shift Inspection
  5. Main Parts of a Forklift
  6. Different Fuel Sources and Safe Handling
  7. Practical Hands on Training
  8. Loading Techniques

Warehouse Career Training Program

 

Morning or afternoon
Maximum capacity: 10 students per class

This hands-on course teaches individuals the general knowledge of shipping & receiving, merchandise, and identifying and preparing orders for shipment in the Warehouse and Distribution Industry. This extended program also combines forklift certification, electric pallet jack and computer training skills. 
Objective: the warehouse training course is designed to give the learner(s) the knowledge to perform the tasks required in all deparrtments within the warehouse, except operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts) as a warehouse associate.

Curriculum:

  1. Warehouse Safety Procedures
  2. Vocational ESL
  3. Safe pallet jack operation and handling
  4. Warehouse Terminology and Tools
  5. Picking and Packing Orders using warehouse documents
  6. Warehouse Math and Measurements
  7. Sorting Products using numerical systems
  8. Inventory Control and Stocking Product
  9. Shipping and Receiving

Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Course


American Red Cross

Flexible schedule and offered at times that allow you participate in hands-on training.

In partnership with the American Red Cross our course offers:

  1. Latest science
  2. hands-on training
  3. Teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of emergencies
  4. How to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies
  5. Help victims of any age: adult and pediatric
 

Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for adult and/or infant First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years

Strategies for Success Life Skills Workshop


This workshop prepares individuals to enter the labor market with a common understanding of work requirements. Areas covered include: attitude, basic skills, budgeting, job hunting, life skills, planning, and self-esteem.

Financial Coaching

Financial literacy is an essential component of our Pathways to Self-Sufficiency and Employment Stability Program.  For over a decade, PSTC has provided provided finacial literacy instruction as part of our curriculum and career coaching.  The components of our financial coaching include: budgeting and banking, improving credit, debt reduction and investing.

PSTC courses are 3-4 weeks in duration. Courses are offered monthly, Monday through Friday, in Renton. All training courses require an in-house assessment of English, math, reading, and writing skills.
